FC Bayern Munich to make two changes to its starting XI for Saturday’s Europa League clash with Borussia Dortmund

FC Bayern München announced on Wednesday that midfielder Lucas Bolasie has suffered a knee injury and will miss the game against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The defender sustained the injury in the 89th minute of the match against Augsburg, when he collided with the foot of Jan-Goran Grosjean and left him with a broken bone in his right knee.

The 23-year-old is set to miss Sunday’s Europa Cup final against VfL Wolfsburg, which takes place in the German capital.

In addition to Bolasies injury, FC Bayern is missing right-back Marco Reus, who is suffering from a groin strain.

The German champions will hope to fill Bolasier’s position for the match with the addition of right-winger Mario Mandzukic, who has started just once in the Champions League so far this season.

Bolasie, 23, joined Bayern from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 and has been a constant source of goals for the Bundesliga side this season, scoring nine goals in 16 games.

He was also a member of the German squad for the 2015 World Cup qualifiers, where he netted two goals and made a vital contribution to a 2-0 win over Sweden.

His goal tally will have been impressive for the Borussia boss, who had said earlier in the season that he was looking for players who could give him options up front.
